Amplitude-modulated Laser Beam Propagation in Plasma Under Exponential Plasma Density Transition
Niti Kant and Vishal Thakur
The present paper deals with effect of exponential density transition on self-focusing of amplitude-modulated laser in plasma. Density of plasma changes due to the ponderomotive nonlinearity which comes into play due to non-uniform spatial profile of laser beam leading to efficient self-focusing. Propagation of amplitude-modulated laser beam is investigated and see the effect of laser intensity and exponential density ramp profile. The beam width parameter of the laser is analyzed with different laser and plasma parameters and strong self-focusing is seen for higher modulation index.
