Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance Study of Silver Nanoprisms and Investigation of their Optical Properties
Malyaj Das, Divakar Sharma, Abhishek Dashore and Anand Yadav
Localized Surface Plasmons (LSPs) can be excited on metallic nanoparticles, which can induce a strong enhancement of electromagnetic field in the near-field region (resonance amplification) leading to its extensive applications in Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS), fluorescence enhancement, refractive index (RI) measurement, biomolecular interaction detection, and so on. In this work, we utilize the phenomenon of LSPR and study the optical properties of silver nano particles (AgNPs) – a Box-Behnken design with three variables: 𝐴𝑔𝑁𝑂3 (𝑥1), 𝐻2𝑂2 (𝑥2), and 𝑁𝑎𝐵𝐻4 (𝑥3) were used. We have controlled some of the variables such as metal precursor, stabilizer, oxidizing, and reducing agents present in the solution (reaction medium) to synthesize different sizes of Ag NPs. In this work, the effect of the interaction between the components 𝐴𝑔+, 𝐻2𝑂2 , Tri-Sodium citrate (𝑇𝑆𝐶), and 𝑁𝑎𝐵𝐻4 on the formation of colloidal Ag NPs was also characterized by the chemical route method.
