Monte Carlo Simulations of Chosen Optical Properties of Liquid Crystalline Systems

Monte Carlo simulations offer an effective approach to modelling of optical properties of nematic liquid crystals (NLC). In this paper Monte Carlo method based on the Lebwohl-Lasher effective Hamiltonian with Rapini-Papoular term is described and main results obtained by our group using this approach are briefly presented.
