The fabrication of aqueous nanoparticle dispersions from metallo-phthalocyanine solutions via a novel method combining a reprecipitation method and microwave irradiation, is reported. The physical characteristics of these phthalocyanine nanoparticles have been investigated using several techniques such as linear absorption and florescence spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Finally, we demonstrate a significant improvement in their nonlinear optical dissipative response compared to dissolved solutions of the same phthalocyanines.
