Microwave-Assisted Synthesis of High Molecular Weight Epoxy Resins
Dariusz Bogdal, Jan Pielichowski and Jaroslaw Gorczyk
The method of synthesis of high molecular weight epoxy resins that can be applied for the production of photolumeninescent devices was described. For this purpose, a reactive coumarin derivative, 7-diethylaminocoumarin carboxylic acid, was used as a strong luminescer that can emit light in a desired region. The reactions were performed in the multimode microwave reactor “Plazmatronika” (Poland) with microwave frequency of 2.45 GHz and maximum of microwave power of 300 W. Values of EV, Mn, Mw and Mw/Mn of the products obtained have been determined. The results show that the optimum concentration of the coumarin derivative, which gives an intensive luminescence in desired region, is 0.2%wt.
