Theoretical simulation is performed on the nonlinear optical properties of LiInS2 (LIS) crystals based on new Sellmeier equations, including calculating and analyzing refractive index, walk-off angle, effective nonlinear coefficient of fast light and slow light. Two directions are selected: the XOY principal plane and the XOZ principal plane, in which the phase matching characteristics and corresponding curves in three wave collinear interaction are theoretically computed and simulated. Based on simulation results, we presented nanosecond laser pumped mid-infrared LIS-optical parametric oscillator (OPO) experimental scheme.
