ISRS guideline project
The ISRS guideline project is in its final stage. The aim of the guideline project is to perform a systematic review of critical topics relevant to our membership and make recommendations for practice. Furthermore, a junior member is selected to be topic leader while being mentored as senior author by one of the committee members. The chair of the guideline committee, Dr. Arjun Sahgal, helped in the development and finalization of each guideline. The first two guidelines, under the leadership of Dr. Zain Hussein (Yale University) and Dr. Sten Myrehaug (Sunnybrook, University of Toronto), on spine radiosurgery have been accepted for publication. We have under review drafts of the acoustic, trigeminal neuralgia and epilepsy guidelines and those on brain metastases, arteriovenous malformations and cavernous sinus meningioma will soon be finalized. At the ISRS Congress in Montreux, there will be a breakfast session dedicated to the presentation of these guidelines.
ISRS Congress 2017, Montreux, Switzerland
The ISRS Congress 2017 will be held in Montreux, Switzerland, from May 28 to June 1, 2017! The Congress brings together a diverse international community of neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, medical physicists and other healthcare professionals to encourage communication and interactive networking, as well as to exchange first-hand scientific and research information on the latest developments in the field of radiosurgery. As the field of radiosurgery continues to develop with increased studies, research, and new technologies, the aim of the ISRS is to broaden the scope of this unique international forum and to gather a large audience interested in extracranial surgery and related topics during the biennial Congress and Exhibition. Members are encouraged to submit abstracts for presentation and register early.
