The Effect of Strain Pulses on PVC- Graphite / Nickel Thick Film Resistors
K. Saujanya, B. Poornaiah, A. Kamala Kumari and Y. Srinivasa Rao

This paper describes the effect of application of strain pulses to thick film resistors. It has been found that the resistance generally increases with increase in number of pulses or pulse width, when the pulse amplitude is above the threshold value. It has also been found that the resistance increase with increase in pulse amplitude above a certain pulse amplitude (threshold). When a continuous strain of magnitude greater than a threshold value is applied, the resistance continuously increases leading to a runaway.
