Design of Fractional Order Low Pass Filter Using Particle Swarm Optimization and Flower Pollination Algorithms

A Novel Fractional Order Lowpass Filter(FOLPF) using optimization techniques named Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) Method and Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) is proposed in this paper. The rational approximation is obtained using the two optimization techniques. Then the FOLPF Transfer function is obtained by the substitution of the sα. The active circuit is synthesized using Follow the Leader Topology and is simulated using TINA Software, it is found the the 0dB Bandwidth obtained using the proposed optimization techniques is superior to the conventional methods.
