SIFO Electronically Tunable Current-Mode Cascadable Active-Only Universal Filter

A novel current-mode active-only single-input and four-output (SIFO) universal filter using four plus-type second-generation current-controlled conveyors (CCCIIs), one operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) and two operational amplifiers (OAs) is presented. The circuit is fully programmable and implements simultaneously lowpass (LP), bandpass (BP), highpass (HP) and Notch (BS) functions while AP response can be synthesised by connecting the appropriate node currents. The availability of currents at high impedances facilitates cascadibility feature. The filter performance factors natural frequency, bandwidth, quality factor (Q) and gain (G) are electronically tuneable. The SPICE simulation results are included to confirm the workability of the proposed circuit.
