Towards Fungal Environmental Sensors: Analyzing Electrical Spectrograms to Uncover Fungal Signals
Donovan J. Davino and Ryan M. Weiss
Spectrogram analysis is used to characterize electrical spiking behavior of Pleurotus citrinopileatus and its relation to fungal signalling. The setup explores the effects of heat, water, and music on the electrical response of fungi with the additional context of ambient room temperature, substrate moisture level, ambient sound level, and ambient air humidity. Summarily, distinct frequency and intensity spiking behavior is identified in response to various external stimuli, which may provide discerning information to further decode fungal signals.
