Effect of Wettability on Boiling Heat Transfer Characteristics in Micro-Channel Vapor Generator
Yutaka Tasaki and Yoshio Utaka
Improving the boiling heat transfer characteristics in a micro-channel vaporizer has become an important issue because of space limitations in a fuel cell vehicle. The process of bubble growth in the micro channel was observed using a high-speed camera to clarify how the surface properties of the heating plate and channel gap affect heat transfer characteristics and evaporation. The effects of the wettability of the heating surface and the gap size of the micro-channel were mainly evaluated.
