Simplified analytical methods for evaluating the pressure distortion coefficient of controlled-clearance pressure balances
Giorgio Buonanno, Marco Dell’Isola, A Frattolillo
Several numerical and empirical methods are used to design and characterise pressure balances, but most of them are not applicable to complex units. Here, a simplified analytical method developed at the University of Cassino is reported. This method can be used to evaluate the pressure distortion coefficient of complex pressure balances used in the high-pressure range with particular reference to controlled-clearance pressure balances constructed from different materials. The results obtained by the proposed method are compared with experimental and numerical data relating to different controlled-clearance pressure balances.
