Current-carrying ability of aluminium composite conductors at thermocycling

Electrical and galvanomagnetic investigations were made on composite aluminium conductors, prepared by non-standard technology with a sheath of industrial aluminium alloy. With its high electrical conductivity, the multifilament conductor has demonstrated stability during thermocycling, annealing, and ability to recover conducting properties after deformation. Values of magnetoresistance in strong magnetic fields did not differ from the values characteristic for pure aluminium, though field dependence deviated upward from linearity. The physical reasons for this dependence have been analysed.
