Ultrasonic velocity of liquid tridecane and tetradecane as a function of temperature and pressure
Jean-Luc Daridon, Bernard Lagourette
Speed of sound measurements have been performed at pressures up to 150 MPa in the temperature range 293 – 373 K on tridecane and tetradecane. Measurements were carried out in the liquid state by a pulse technique working at 3 MHz. The experimental results were fitted to a two-dimensional pressure – temperature function, which involves no more than nine adjustable parameters, with an absolute average deviation less than the experimental uncertainty for both compounds.
