A large quantity of solid waste resulting from the operations of aggregate quarries has, for a long time, been dumped into the environment and now poses a serious environmental problem. New technologies have been developed to transform this waste into lightweight insulating building materials which require little energy for their production. Weight reduction has been achieved in this part of the study by including wood aggregates 3 – 8 mm in size.
