Photothermal deflection technique with bouncing configuration

The transverse photothermal deflection technique is studied in the bouncing scheme in which the probe beam is reflected from the surface of the sample. The influence of mirage and displacement on the lateral deflection is studied. The procedure for obtaining the thermal diffusivity in the bouncing scheme is discussed. A special setup developed to distinguish the mirage and displacement signals is described. The experimental results on an indium phosphide sample are also presented.
