Thermal conductivity of atom-molecule dilute gas mixtures
Magnus Schreiber, Velisa Vesovic, William A Wakeham
Simple and practical expressions for predicting the thermal conductivity of atom – molecule gas mixtures at low pressures have been developed. The resulting expressions contain no adjustable parameters, but are functions of thermal conductivity and isobaric heat capacity of pure species and a set of interaction parameters that are experimentally accessible. The developed scheme has been tested against the available experimental data. For most mixtures studied the deviations from the experimental thermal conductivity data are within ±1% – 2%. These results indicate that the proposed method can form the basis of the more general scheme for predicting thermal conductivity of multicomponent molecular mixtures.
