Efficient Cluster Head Selection and Fault Tolerant Routing Method for Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks
Angeline Rachel Sharon. R, N. Victor Jaya
Wireless Sensor Networks are known for their wider range of applications. However energy consumption has been a major issue in sustaining a Wireless Sensor Network. Hence a number of studies related to WSN have evolved in the recent years. This study proposes few conditions for selecting the Cluster Heads in order to reduce energy consumption of the network. The second major challenge in WSN is Data Routing. The routing process from the Cluster Head to the Base Station is studied and all the routes from every CH to the Base Station are analyzed to provide the network with fault tolerant and reliable routing. Mobility of the base station and the sensor nodes are taken into consideration. The scheme is experimented using NS 2 software . The obtained results are compared with few existing methods for energy consumption, alive nodes, delay and throughput and is found to perform better than existing methods.
