Modeling of Sea-Level Rise Effects on Cross-Shore Coastal Erosion

In the present work a cross-shore sediment transport model is applied to estimate shoreline changes induced by the sea-level rise due to global warming. The model is extended in the swash zone where a significant part of coastal processes occurs. This extension leads to the prediction of dune and foreshore erosion. Typical beach profiles are chosen for model applications. An attempt is also made to verify Bruun Rule. Resulting erosion due to low, middle and high estimates of relative sea-level rise is calculated. The erosion is predicted to be of several meters length and it is mainly dependent on the local topography.
