Performance Comparison of Various Cryptosystems
G. R. Kulkarni and Bhavin S. Sedani
Cryptography is the science of using mathematics to encrypt and decrypt data. Cryptography enables you to store sensible information or transmit it across insecure networks (like the internet) so that it cannot be read by anyone except the intended recipient. The objective of this paper is to compare the families of public key schemes and to prove that Elliptic Curve Cryptography is more suited for constrained environments such as smart cards, cellular phones, PDAs, digital post marks etc.
Keywords: Cryptography, elliptical curve.
