The Birth of Physarum Computing

In this special issue, we introduce and promote the emerging field of Physarum computing, and, hopefully, will give some insight to intrinsic mechanisms of natural computing.
We believe that Physarum computing offers two-fold benefit. It enables us to uncover principles of information processing at a cell level from the basic biology point of view, and it stimulates a biologically-inspired new method of problem solving.
