Computing in Chemical Systems:
Selected Results from Professor Kenichi Yoshikawa Laboratory

The issue presents and overview results obtained in Laboratory of Complex Systems, Life and Molecular Systems at the Department of Physics, Kyoto University, Japan. Principle subjects include computing with impulses in BZ systems: optimization, implementation of logical gates (Boolean and three-valued logics), chemical dynamical memory, time-interval detectors and counters, and chemical neurons; paradigms and experiments on chemical sensing, distance and direction sensing in excitable chemical media and convective and spontaneous motions in reaction-diffusion systems.
