Thirring Type -Gaussian Breather Optical Solitons in Kerr Media Possessing Electromagnetically Induced Transparency: Effect of Self Focusing
Naveen Gupta
Theoretical investigation on formation of breather Thirring soliton pair in Kerr nonlinear media possessing electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) has been presented. Moment theory approach in W.K.B approximation has been invoked to obtain the equations of motion of beam widths of pump and probe beams. In order to incorporate the effect of amplitude structure over the cross section of the laser beams on the propagation dynamics of the soliton pair, the irradiance profile of the laser beams has been modeled by -Gaussian profile. Self phase modulation of axial phase of the breather pair and its relation with Berry’s phase also has been discussed in detail.
