Nowadays, in wireless sensor networks, Time synchronization is the most critical problem. In real-time scenarios, sensor nodes need an optimized time synchronization technique to activate the sensing nodes during the exact scheduled time. So, there is a need to develop new protocols for time synchronization and help to save the energy between the nodes during communication. Earlier, we have deployed relay nodes (RNs) in the field of candidate locations network by using QualNet 6.1 simulator which achieves the desired performance like coverage range, connectivity strength with proper synchronization of the network. Now, we have created a parameter estimator for time synchronization with the help of MATLAB.
We also verify the accuracy of the proposed method using quantitative analysis to prove that the Relay Nodes deployed by the proposed algorithms to save energy and optimize the time synchronization, reduce packets dropped as well as enhance the life cycle of the network. Simulation results show that the optimized time-synchronized Multi-layer MAC with relay nodes perform better than the state-of-the-art unsynchronized algorithms.
