MultiAgent Face Detection (MAFD): A Multiagent System for Enhancing the Performance of Object Detection in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks
Shamim Yousefi and Farnaz Derakhshan
In Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs), object detection is a critical task. In recent approaches on object detection in WMSNs, the extracted information is transmitted to the sink using the traditional data gathering method that is caused to increase the transmission cost. Therefore, in this paper, we present a new method, called MultiAgent Face Detection (MAFD), to detect the face information of the objects (where humans are the desired objects) and transmit this information to the sink for further recognition process using the mobile agents. We aim to enhance the energy consumption and lifetime of the multimedia sensor nodes using the MAS for object detection and data transmission in the WMSNs. In comparison with previous works, the results from the simulations show that our proposed method minimized the energy consumption of multimedia sensor nodes, consequently, maximize the lifetime of the network.
