Short-range order in liquid tin-rich alloys with lithium
Stephen Mudry
The structure of liquid lithium – tin alloys in the tin-enriched concentration range has been investigated by means of the x-ray method and viscosity measurements. It is shown that short-range order is characterised by a nonhomogeneous microdistribution, and associated groups of unlike atoms of Li3Sn stoichiometry and the tin-based matrix are the main structural units of near-eutectic molten alloys.
