Automated isochoric apparatus for pressure, density, temperature measurements of binary gaseous mixtures at high temperatures
Miguel F B Mourato, Jorge C G Calado, António M F Palavra
A new automated apparatus, based on the isochoric method and built to carry out density measurements on pure gases and their binary mixtures in the temperature range 423.15 – 573.15 K and pressures up to 60 MPa, is described. To test the system, pressure, density, temperature measurements on pure nitrogen were performed. These experimental data have been fitted to a Strobridge equation of state and have been compared with those calculated by a 32-parameter modified Benedict – Webb – Rubin equation and with others from the literature. The estimated uncertainty for the density was ±0.1%.
