Aims and Scope
The International Journal of Multimedia Communications is a peer-reviewed international journal, published by Old City Publishing Inc. It publishes original research papers focused on the transmission of video, sound, motion graphics, image text and multiple media types in both server-client and peer-to-peer networks. Multimedia communications may use different types of communication protocols, architectures and algorithms, such as real-time protocols, end-to-end multimedia streaming protocols, resource allocation algorithms, etc., and include several quality parameters, including Quality of Service (QoS), Quality of Experience (QoE), etc., to achieve an efficient communication. A wide range of multimedia applications are expected to be included in the works published in the journal such as Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), multimedia databases, distributed video collaboration, video communication, video conferencing, 3D virtual environments, etc. Any process related with multimedia treatment for communication, such as image, video, audio and text processing, analysis and retrieval, and multimedia communication technology, such as circuits, systems, software, are welcome.
International Journal of Multimedia Communications seeks the latest advances in multimedia communication techniques, best practices, awareness and experiences from professionals, standard developers, policy makers, practitioners, the academia, industry and researchers working in the field.
Papers submitted to the journal can include state-of-the-art reviews, theories, designs, research results, innovative projects, surveying works, reports on experiences, experiments of implementation industrial experiences, developments as well as case studies that describe significant advances and trends in the areas of multimedia communications. We welcome high-quality technical papers addressing the pros and cons of specific proposals and survey papers addressing the key problems and solutions on any topic related with multimedia communications.
