S. Jović, Ž. Đorđević and D. Lazarević
The laser cutting process is considered to be an economical process for the separation of material of various type and thickness. The operating cost of the process is influenced by a number of parameters such as laser power, cutting speed, air pressure, focal point position and material thickness, and so the main objective of this study was to investigate the influence of these laser cutting parameters on the operating cost of the process. Computational intelligence was used as the methodology for the investigation, the main aim being to estimate the optimal laser cutting parameters in order to achieve the optimal operating cost of the process.
