Chemical Pulses Propagating Inside a Narrowing Channel and Their Possible Computational Applications
Jan Sxymanski and Jerzy Gorecki
We study the propagation of excitation pulses in light-sensitive Belousov–Zhabotinsky reaction inside a narrowing triangular channel. Using a flow reactor (CSTR) we are able to observe pulse propagation for a long time, which corresponds to hundreds of individual pulses. Experimental results are compared with numerical simulations, we also discuss applications of the system for information processing.
